"I only complain of my sorrow and grief to Allah..."
– Qur’an 12:86
🌙 When the Heart Feels Hollow
There’s a silence that follows grief. It doesn’t announce itself. It settles into your tea. Your chest. Your prayers.
When the Prophet Yaqub عليه السلام lost Yusuf, his beloved son, he didn’t hide from the pain. He cried until his vision was lost. But he never lost sight of Allah’s mercy. He didn't collapse in despair — he turned inward, and upward.
His grief was deep, but so was his yaqin — certainty in Allah. That is the kind of heart I want. The kind I pray for.
💌 To My Mother, with Every Drop of Lemon Balm
My dearest mama,
I still look for your voice in quiet places. I carry your scent in the folds of memory — the warm tea you made, the softness of your hands, the mercy in your silence when I got things wrong.
There are things I never said. Things I didn't know how to say. And now that your body is in the ground but your soul has risen higher, I ache with the weight of wanting to make it right.
I offer these words, these oils, these prayers — as gifts. May every drop of lemon balm bring ease to another soul and write light in your grave. May every person comforted here on this blog become a witness for you on the Day we all stand again.
If you could read this, I’d tell you: I see now. I thank you. I ask your forgiveness.
Ya Allah — accept this from me and let her know.
Let her know I’m still her child — but now, I’m also her sadaqah.

🕊️ Remembrance for a Heavy Heart
Recite slowly. Let it land in your chest like a feather from Jannah:
اللهم اجبر قلبي جبراً يتعجب له أهل السموات والأرض
“O Allah, mend my heart in a way that astonishes the people of the heavens and the earth.”
